A fresh case has been reported from Mohali taking the total number of cases in Punjab to 22. On Sunday, 7 new cases were reported in Nawanshahr, who were in contact with Baldev Singh, who died due to heart attack and later tested positive last week. Meanwhile, she has also been admitted to a hospital.
The number of coronavirus cases in India has jumped to 415 with 8 deaths so far. A 68-year-old Philippines citizen, initially tested positive for coronavirus but subsequently became negative, passed away on Sunday.
Punjab Lockdown
Punjab government on Sunday directed a complete lockdown that started from Monday at around 6 am. Meanwhile, Punjab CM Captain Amarinder Singh took to Twitter and wrote: "In the past few days, we have initiated legal action against violators of home quarantine. All measures being taken are for the larger good of everyone. While I am happy that everyone is cooperating, I will not let a few threaten the safety measures being taken against COVID-19."
He further added that "I have directed the provision of free food, shelter & medicines for those in need & 20 Cr has been sanctioned out of CM relief fund for same. Additionally, DCs & SDMs have been asked to extend all assistance to those in need."

Take Lockdown seriously
Meawhile, Prime Minister Narendra Modi took to Twitter and wrote: "Many people are still not taking the lockdown seriously. Please save yourself, save your family, follow the instructions seriously. I request the state governments to get the rules and laws followed."
