Ludhiana ACP Anil Kohli succumbs to COVID-19
Coronavirus in Punjab: Ludhiana ACP Anil Kohli, who was tested positive for coronavirus, succumbed to the disease on Saturday, the civil surgeon Rajesh Bagga said. He was admitted to the Apollo Hospital in Ludhiana. Meanwhile, the ACP’s wife, his gunman, a resident of Ferozepur and a sub-inspector posted as Basti Jodhewal SHO have tested positive for coronavirus on Friday. The ACP got infected while on duty at Sabzi Mandi a few days ago. Recently, the Punjab Government supported the medical team of SPS Hospital Ludhiana which decided to go for the plasma therapy of Ludhiana ACP Anil Kohli. The family of ACP, who was admitted in Ludhiana’s Apollo hospital, gave permission for the therapy, for which the DHS Punjab was coordinating potential plasma donors. The therapy was being arranged by the state government’s health advisor Dr. KK Talwar, former Director of PGIMER. On Dr. Talwar’s request, Dr. Neelam Marwaha, former Head of Department, Blood Transfusion Department, PGI, had agreed to guide the efforts for plasma therapy.
