Punjab tally rises to 48 after Ludhiana reports fresh case of coronavirus
The total number of coronavirus cases has increased to 48 after a Ludhiana resident tested positive for COVID 19 on Thursday evening. A 69-year-old female was tested positive in Shimlapuri in Ludhiana. Meanwhile, the area has been sealed in an order to prevent the spread of coronavirus. On Thursday, the former Hazuri Raghi of Sri Harmandir Sahib (Golden Temple) Bhai Nirmal Singh Khalsa passed away due to coronavirus. Meanwhile, the Punjab Government on Thursday released a list of 31 people who came in contact with Bhai Nirmal Singh. It was the fifth death due to coronavirus in the state. The first death was Baldev Singh, who died due to heart attack in Nawanshahr, later tested positive for the novel coronavirus. The second death was reported when a man identified as Harbhajan Singh, a resident of Hoshiarpur passed away in a hospital in Amritsar. A 65-year-old man who tested positive for COVID-19 in Nayangaon, Mohali, with no travel history passed away due to coronavirus. Likewise, a death was reported from Ludhiana where a 42-year-old Pooja passed away.
