Coronavirus: India reports 70,421 new cases in 24 hours; lowest after 74 days

Coronavirus India Updates: India on Monday reported 70,421 new cases of COVID-19 in the last 24 hours, the lowest after 74 days. As per the coronavirus updates given by the Union Health Ministry, India on Monday reported 70,421 new COVID-19 cases, 1,19,501 patient discharges, and 3,921 deaths in the last 24 hours. The total number of coronavirus cases in India has increased to 2,95,10,410 while the discharges have gone up to 2,81,62,947. The death toll in the country has reached 3,74,305 while the active cases stood at 9,73,158. As of now, a total of 25,48,49,301 people have been administered COVID-19 vaccines. According to the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR), a total of 37,96,24,626 samples have been tested for COVID-19, up to June 13, 2021. Of these, 14,92,152 samples were tested on Sunday. Meanwhile, Delhi, once the worst-affected city, recorded 255 new COVID-19 cases, 23 deaths in a day while the positivity rate stands at 0.35 percent. Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal said that if a spike in Covid cases was observed next week, the restrictions will again be imposed on markets and restaurants in Delhi.
