Coronavirus positive cases in India rise to 17,265; death toll 543
The total number of coronavirus (COVID 19) cases in India has surged to 17,265 after 1553 new positive cases were reported in the last 24 hours, as of Monday morning. Out of 17,265 cases, 2546 have been cured and discharged while the death toll has increased to 543, according to the Health Ministry. The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare was quoted by news agency ANI as saying: "1,553 new cases and 36 deaths reported in the last 24 hours. India's total number of Coronavirus positive cases rises to 17,265 (including 14,175 active cases, 2546 cured/ discharged/ migrated and 543 deaths)." According to the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Maharashtra remains the worst-affected state with a total of 4,203 cases. Of 4,203 cases, 507 patients have been recovered and discharged while 223 deaths have been reported. Delhi has reported 2,003 cases, out of which 72 have recovered while 45 patients have died Rajasthan has 1,478 cases, out of which 183 people have recovered while 14 are dead. Tamil Nadu reported 1,477 cases, out of which 411 have been cured and 15 have succumbed to the coronavirus. On the other hand, Uttar Pradesh has 1,084 coronavirus positive cases. In Kerala, which reported India's first COVID-19 case, 402 positive cases have been reported. -PTC News
