Coronavirus positive cases in India rise to 13,387; death toll 437
The total number of coronavirus (COVID 19) cases in India has surged to 13,387 after 1007 positive cases and 23 deaths have been reported in the last 24 hours, as of Friday morning. Out of 13,387, 1,749 have been cured and discharged while the death toll has increased to 437, according to the Health Ministry. The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare was quoted by news agency ANI as saying: "India's total number of coronavirus positive cases rises to 13,387 (including 11201 active cases, 1749 cured/discharged/migrated and 437 deaths)." According to the Health ministry, of the total 437 deaths, Maharashtra has reported 194 deaths, the highest in the country, followed by Madhya Pradesh, where 53 fatalities have been reported so far. Maharashtra remained the worst-hit state with the total number of positive cases rising to around 3,205, followed by Delhi at 1,640 cases, Tamil Nadu at 1,267 cases and Rajasthan at 1,131 cases, according to the Health Ministry data.
