Coronavirus cases in Punjab rise to 2158; recovered 1946
The total number of coronavirus cases in Punjab has increased to 2158 after 19 new cases of COVID-19 were reported in the last 24 hours, as of Thursday evening. According to the media bulletin issued by the Punjab Health Department on Tuesday evening, Amritsar reported 7 new cases of coronavirus while Jalandhar and Sangrur reported 3 new cases each. Likewise, one new case each was reported from Ropar and SAS Nagar. 4 new cases were reported from Hoshiarpur. A total of 28 patients have been declared cured and discharged in the last 24 hours. Of 28 recovered cases, 13 are from Jalandhar, 9 from Amritsar and three each from Sangrur and Gurdapsur. Amritsar is on the top of the tally with 354 COVID-19 cases so far followed by Jalandhar at 233, Ludhiana at 176, and Tarn Taran at 156. Gurdaspur has 133 cases of coronavirus while Patiala has reported 115 cases so far. SBS Nagar tally stands at 106 while Mohali's tally has increased to 104. Hoshiarpur tally has increased to 114. The number of coronavirus cases in Sangrur has increased to 94 while Muktsar stands at 66. Faridkot has reported 62 cases so far while a total of 59 cases have been reported from Moga, 61 from Ropar, 57 from Fatehgarh Sahib. Mansa has recorded 32 cases while the total number of coronavirus cases has increased to 47 in Pathankot. Kapurthala stands at 36 while 23 cases of coronavirus cases have been reported from Barnala so far. Meanwhile, 172 are the active cases while 1946 people have been cured and discharged. -PTC News
