Condolences pour in after Punjab actor Deep Sidhu's death
Punjab, February 15: Famous Punjabi film actor and social activist Deep Sidhu, who became infamous as the prime suspect in the Red Fort violence on 2021 Republic Day, died in a road accident late Tuesday evening.
After the shocking news of the actor's untimely demise, political dignitaries, celebrities and fans extended their condolences.
Expressing grief over the death of the actor, Punjab Chief Minister Charanjit Singh Channi took to social media and said "Deeply saddened to learn about the unfortunate demise of renowned actor and social activist, #DeepSidhu. My thoughts and prayers are with the bereaved family and fans."
Punjabi singer Preet Harpal wrote, "Es ton buri khabar ho e nhi sakdi k deep veera sade ch nhi reha. Deep veer ne kisani andolan vich jo kirdar nibhaya oh rehndi dunian tak yaad rahegA. Yodhe eni ghat umer Qeon likha k aunde aa pta nhi. Rip deep sidhu. parmatma apne charni niwas deve."

For the unversed, Deep Sidhu died on Tuesday evening after he met an accident at KMP highway (Kundli-Manesar highway) near Delhi. He was driving the car, which rammed into a stationary Tata 407. His friend escaped unhurt, it is learnt.
The accident occurred around 8: 30 pm near the Singhu border, the centre of last year's farmer protests. He was gravely wounded and died on the way to the hospital.
Deep Sidhu's body has been sent to the Sonepat Civil Hospital for autopsy, police sources said.
