Chennai : 2 Koreans held for gold smuggling , Rs 11.16 crore seized
Officials of the Directorate of Revenue Intelligence busted a gold smuggling racket, arresting five people, including two Korean women.
The Directorate of Revenue Intelligence Officials seized 7 kg gold and Rs 11.16 crore in cash during the operation.The two Korean women has been identified as Noon Sonimi and Kweon Mihwa.

According to a police official, South Koreans used to bring gold from Hong Kong and were being paid crores of rupees through hawala transactions by a Chennai based businessman.

The police has also arrested businessman and his two assistants for being allegedly involved in the smuggling of gold.
