Chandigarh MC elections 2021: Election Commissioner on Monday announced the date and schedule for Chandigarh MC polls.
Meanwhile, the model code of conduct has been enforced.

The polling for Chandigarh MC elections 2021 is scheduled to be held on December 24 while the results will be declared on December 27.

All key political parties — BJP, Congress, and AAP — are yet to announce their candidates. Now that the dates have been announced, the political parties can start their preparation and plan things.
Meanwhile, all political parties have completed their internal exercise to select candidates.
While Congress has received around 200 applications against 35 municipal wards, BJP has received applications through their district presidents. Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has also completed its exercise for the same.
As of now, Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) has issued its list of nine candidates, out of 35 for the MC elections. Since SAD has tied up with the BSP in Chandigarh for the first time, their seat-sharing has also been decided.
