Chandigarh fixes speed limit near schools, hospitals
Chandigarh, August 22, 2022: The Transport Department of the Chandigarh Administration on Monday issued a notification fixing the speed limit near schools and hospitals.
As per the notification issued by the Transport Department of Chandigarh Administration, the maximum speed limit of 25 km per hour has been fixed in front of schools/higher educational institutions, and hospitals in UT-Chandigarh with immediate effect.

Furthermore, the Engineering Department has been asked to install the speed limit sign boards indicating the maximum speed limit of 25 km per hour on both sides of roads at appropriate locations such as near the entry and exist of schools, higher educational institutions/hospitals as per the IRC standard in consultation with the Chandigarh Traffic Police.
