Chandigarh reports 2 new cases of coronavirus; total cases mount to 15
Chandigarh has reported fresh cases of coronavirus (COVID 19) taking the total number of cases to 15. A 31-year-old male nurse, resident of Chandigarh with no travel history admitted at CD-ward of Postgraduate Institute of Medical Education and Research (PGIMER) has tested positive for coronavirus. Likewise, a 40-year-old male has also tested positive for COVID 19.
According to the information, he came in contact with a person who returned from Canada. The 40-year-old has been identified as Dr. Jasmeet Singh. He was a doctor at Mayo hospital in Mohali. He was a resident of Sector 49-D, Chandigarh.
Meanwhile, Governor VP Singh Badnore along with UT Advisor Manoj Parida presided over a review meeting with senior officials of Tricity and reviewed the situation regarding Coronavirus menace.
The Administrator also inaugurated a newly developed android based application "CHDCOVID". This platform will be able to provide all the information related to COVID-19 in Chandigarh. Meanwhile, the residents of Chandigarh can access all the guidelines, orders and notifications issued by the Administration and Government of India. Even the media can use this platform for coverage.

Meanwhile, it has also been desired that the contact tracing for late Sh. Om Parkash, resident of Naya Gaon must be done and it may be ensured that the contacted persons should be put under quarantine. It was also brought out that adequate medicines, medical equipment, etc. are available in the city and the suppliers have been told to ensure that there is no scarcity anywhere.
