Chandigarh airport to be named after Shaheed Bhagat Singh: PM Modi in Mann Ki Baat
New Delhi, September 25: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday announced that Chandigarh airport will now be named after Shaheed Bhagat Singh. The Prime Minister's remarks come as he addressed the nation in his monthly radio program Mann Ki Baat on Sunday. This announcement came ahead of the birth anniversary of freedom fighter Bhagat Singh on September 28. "My dear countrymen, three days later, that is, on the 28th of September, is a special day of Amrit Mahotsav. On this day we will celebrate the birth anniversary of Bhagat Singh ji, the brave son of Mother India," PM Modi said. "As a tribute to the great freedom fighter, it has been decided that the Chandigarh airport will now be named after Shaheed Bhagat Singh," the Prime Minister's Office said on Twitter. The cheetahs were released in Madhya Pradesh's Kuno National Park. "It will be great if the naming of cheetahs is in tune with our traditions. Also, suggest how humans should treat animals. Participate in this contest & maybe you could be the 1st one to witness the cheetahs," Prime Minister Modi added. PM Modi also paid homage to Pt. Deendayal Upadhyaya as India observes Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya Jayanti on Sunday. "India is paying homage to Pt. Deendayal Upadhyaya today.
