Chandigarh: Traffic regulations in place ahead of Honey Singh's concert | check routes
PTC News Desk: Chandigarh is all set to Honey Singh's concert at sector-25 rally ground. A large turnout is expected at the event and authorities have also geared up to streamline the experience for all the music enthusiasts.
With over 10,000 fans expected to be in attendance, heavy traffic congestion is also anticipated in several areas of the city.
The Chandigarh traffic police have issued the advisory to segregate traffic congestion around the venue. From 4 pm, roads around the Rally Ground, including the Sector 25/38 and Sector 14/25 stretches, will have restricted entry of vehicles. Major junctions such as the Sector 14/15/24/25 Chowk, Bhaskar Chowk and the Dadu Majra light point are expected to witness heavy traffic. Commuters have been advised to take the Madhya Marg and the Dakshin Marg as alternative routes to reach the designated parking sites.
Dadu Majra Light Point near the Dumping Ground, and Yatri Niwas Chowk (Sector 23/24-15/16). The police have also clarified that there will be no parking facility available at or around the concert venue in Sector 25.
In addition to the traffic regulations, the authorities have taken extensive measures to closely monitor the situation. The organisers have been instructed to install an adequate number of CCTV cameras across the venue for real-time monitoring. Security personnel will be deployed at entry and exit points to regulate crowd movement and prevent any untoward incident.
