Central civil service rules to apply for Chandigarh administration employees from April 1; Union ministry of Home affairs (MHA) issues notification. These rules may be called Union Territory of Chandigarh employees (Conditions of Service) Rules 2022. Also read | Punjab stares at major power outage with coal shortage in thermal plants On Sunday, during his one-day visit to Chandigarh, Shah had said the notification would be issued on Monday and implemented from April 1. Thereafter, the services of Chandigarh administration employees will come directly under the Central Civic Services Rules, instead of the Punjab Civil Services Rules. The Union minister had also said that after the change, the retirement age of employees will be 60 years and those in the education field, like professors, can work till the age of 65. Also, the maternity leave period will be increased from one year to two years and there will be a child education allowance. MINISTRY OF HOME AFFAIRS NOTIFICATION New Delhi, the 29th March, 2022 G.S.R. 230(E).—In exercise of the powers conferred by the proviso to article 309 of the Constitution and in supersession of the Conditions of Service of Union Territory of Chandigarh Employee Rules, 1992, except as respects things done or omitted to be done before such supersession, the President hereby makes the following rules regulating the conditions of service of persons appointed to the services and posts under the administrative control of the Administrator of the Union territory of Chandigarh, namely :-

  1. Short title and commencement.–(1) These rules may be called the Union territory of Chandigarh
Employees (Conditions of Service) Rules, 2022. (2) They shall come into force on the 1st of April 2022.
  1. Conditions of Service of persons appointed to the services and posts under the administrative
control of Administrator.–(1) The conditions of service of persons appointed to the services and posts,– (i) in Group‘A’, Group ‘B’ and Group ‘C’ under the administrative control of the Administrator of the Union territory of Chandigarh shall, subject to any other provision made by the President in this behalf, be the same as the conditions of service of the persons appointed to corresponding services and posts in Central Civil Services of the Government of India and shall be governed by the same rules and orders as are applicable to the latter category of persons; (ii) in Group ‘D’ under the administrative control of the Administrator of the Union territory of Chandigarh shall, subject to any other provision made by the President in this behalf, be the same as the conditions of the service of the persons appointed to the corresponding Group C Also read | Farmers at Punjab's Lambi hold Naib Tehsildar 'hostage; lathicharged   -PTC News
