CBI grants relief to former Punjab Cabinet Minister Manoranjan Kalia

Chandigarh, September 28: The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) granted relief to former BJP president and ex cabinet minister Manoranjan Kalia in 11-year-old corruption case. In the meantime, after investigation CBI declared that there was no of ex-minister Manoranjan Kalia nor was he named in the case. Notably, Manoranjan Kalia had to resign from his post of Local Bodies Industries and Commerce Minister due to the corruption case. Manoranjan-Kalia-gets-relief-in-corruption-case-3 The allegations were that by corrupt and illegal means, Davinder Singh demanded and accepted ₹1.50 crores, ₹15 lakhs in cash, and 9 cheques each amounting to ₹15 lakhs from the complainant Manpreet Singh, general secretary, Punjab Automobile Mechanic Association.
