Capt Amarinder with his party all set to join BJP soon
New Delhi, September 19: Former Chief Minister of Punjab Captain Amarinder Singh with his party is all set to join BJP at around 11 am on September 19. Notably, Captain reached New Delhi on Sunday evening along with his son Ran Inder Singh, daughter Jai Inder Kaur and grandson Nirwan Singh. Former MLA from Muktsar Karan Kaur and Nirmal Singh will also join BJP. Meanwhile, Captain Amarinder Singh broke ties with the Congress ahead of the Punjab Assembly elections and had fought the polls in alliance with the BJP. Charanjit Singh Channi had replaced him as the Chief Minister of Punjab till February 2022 elections. However, both lost the elections. Captain Amarinder Singh had resigned from the membership of the Congress in November in 2021. He served as the Chief Minister of Punjab for two terms —2002-07 and 2017-21. -PTC News
