10 Minutes to Budget Presentation: Nifty and Sensex Remain in the Red
As the presentation of the Union Budget 2024 approaches, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman is set to deliver her seventh consecutive budget at 11 am. Both the Nifty and Sensex are still in decline, down 45 and 133 points, respectively.
Rupee Trades Slightly Lower Ahead of Budget Speech
The Rupee is trading at 83.6413 against the US Dollar, marking a 0.03% decline with less than 15 minutes to go before the budget speech begins.
Meanwhile, in the morning ahead of the announcement of the Union Budget 2024, the stock market opened in the green. At 9:15 am, market data indicated that the Sensex was trading at 80,744 and the Nifty at 24,574 points.
The NSE index finished yesterday at 23,537.85, while the 30-share Sensex closed at 80,502.08. BSE leaders UltraTech Cement, Mahindra & Mahindra, and JSW Steel are some of the top-performing equities.
Arriving in Parliament, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman will present the Budget 2024 at 11:00 a.m. Anticipated reductions in taxes for middle-class individuals and initiatives aimed at generating jobs are probably going to stimulate the economy.
