Budget session 2022: Congress doesn't want to come to power for 100 years, says PM Modi
New Delhi, February 7: Prime Minister Narendra Modi replied to the debate on the Motion of Thanks to the President's address in the Lok Sabha on Monday. On January 31, the Budget session 2022 commenced with President Kovind's address to the joint session of Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha.
During the speech, the President listed the government’s achievements amid the Covid-19 crisis, especially the steps to fight the pandemic and to aid farmers and women. He also called for more hard work to build a modern India by the centenary of Independence in 2047.
PM Modi targeted the Congress and said "no change in your ego even after being voted out from many states years ago".

Earlier, beginning his speech while replying to the debate on the Motion of Thanks to the President's address, Prime Minster Narendra Modi said, "Before making my speech, I would like to pay tributes to Lata Didi. Through her music, she unified our nation," said Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Later, he said in the last few years, India had witnessed immense strength and with this strength, they had moved forward
"Earlier, gas connection was a status symbol. Now, the poorest of the poor have access to it and that is why it is very gladdening. The poor have access to bank accounts, DBT is helping in service delivery...these are major changes," said PM Modi.
"There is a new world order post Covid 19 pandemic. We are being recognized as a leader. India must take the global leadership role," PM Modi said in the Lok Sabha.
He said,"Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav' is perfect time to think about how India can play global leadership role in coming years."
PM Modi said, "We have made solid progress. We have shown the pace to PM Awaas Yojana, which has now ensured that the house of the poor is being made in ‘lakhs’. The poor who gets house is now becoming ‘lakhpati’."
Taking a dig at the Congress,"he said, "When we lose one poll, our ecosystem does research for months, while in your case you keep losing polls ... your ego and arrogance does not decline, as your ecosystem does allow you to correct."
"You can oppose me, but why are you (Congress) opposing the Fit India Movement and other schemes? No wonder you were voted out in many states years ago...I think you have made up your mind not to come to power for the next 100 years," said PM Modi.
PM Modi replied to Congress’ Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury after constant interventions from the latter in the Lok Sabha.
