BSF recovers two packets containing pistols, IEDs, cash in Punjab's Gurdaspur
Gurdaspur (Punjab), February 9: Following a buzzing sound of a flying object moving across International Border early Wednesday morning, two packets wrapped in yellow tape containing one pistol, two magazines, two IEDs and Rs 1 lakh were recovered by Border Security Force (BSF) troops of Gurdaspur sector in Punjab. Earlier in the day, the Border Security Force (BSF) had foiled an attempt of smuggling contraband by a drone coming from Pakistan in Gurdaspur sector of Punjab's Amritsar district. Alert BSF troops subsequently fired upon the drone. During a search in the area of village Ghaggar and Singhoke by the BSF along with trained dog with a dog handler, two packets of yellow colour with suspected contraband were recovered. The packets contained one pistol, two magazines, two IEDs and Rs 1 lakh in cash," said the BSF. The area is at a distance of approximately 2,700 metre from International Border.
