Bomb threat at Amritsar’s Spring Dale School traced to 2 students; made fake account to prank

Amritsar, September 13: A day after a bomb threat to Amritsar’s Spring Dale School, the police registered a case against two students of the same school for making a fake social media account and creating panic. Notably, Amritsar's Spring Dale School received a bomb threat on social media. After receiving a message threatening to blow up the school, the school administration filed a complaint with the Police Commissioner of Amritsar. According to authorities, the bomb hoax was staged by two students at the school. They allegedly took their parents' phones and used a fake account to make the prank threat, which went viral on social media. This message was also translated into Urdu. The students allegedly wanted a day off from school. Notably, a screenshot of WhatsApp chat went viral over social media that mentioned blast at Spring Dale School on September 16. "It came to the notice of the school that a threatening message was in circulation in social media of similar nature as was circulated against another school in the city last week. The school authorities taking a serious note of the social media message informed the Police authorities to ensure the safety and security of the students and staff of the school," Spring Dale Senior School issued a press statement. A similar incident took place a few days ago, when DAV Public school, Lawrence road received a bomb threat via social media. Taking strict cognizance of the matter AAP MLA and former IPS officer Kunwar Vijay Pratap visited the site to ensure safety of the school. In a Facebook post, he wrote, “Everything is normal at DAV Public School, Lawrence Road, Amritsar. It was only a rumour. I visited the school, talked to the school authorities and also with the police.
