BJP seeks FIR against Navjot Sidhu for hurting sentiments of Brahmins

In a run-up to Punjab Assembly elections 2022, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Sunday wrote a letter to the Punjab Chief Electoral Officer seeking registration of FIR against Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee (PPCC) chief Navjot Singh Sidhu for hurting the sentiments of the Brahmin community and Hindu religion. The complaint has been filed for registering FIR against Navjot Singh Sidhu and to prohibit him from election campaigning for hurting sentiments of the Brahmin community and Hindu religion. He has targeted the Brahmin community that has given knowledge of Vedas as well as knowledge of how to fight a battle (Shastar & Shastr Vidhya). All the big religious books like Ramayana Etc are written by them. People of all the other religions have also acknowledged the great work of the Brahmin community. This insult done by Navjot Singh Sidhu is not only of the Brahmin community but it is the insult of the whole Hindu religion and Hindu dharma pracharaks who are working in Hindu temples," the letter reads. BJP seeks FIR against Navjot Sidhu for hurting sentiments of Brahmins "Navjot Singh Sidhu is a habitual offender. He intentionally gives such types of statements," it added. "Till now, he has not apologised or regretted his statement. A few days ago his Principal political strategist advisor Mohammed Mustafa has hurt the sentiments of the Hindu community by using vulgar language against them," the letter stated. Therefore, he requested the Punjab Chief Electoral Officer to register an FIR against Navjot Singh Sidhu and that he should be prohibited from campaigning to ensure peace and harmony in Punjab. Meanwhile, the Brahmin community has announced to completely boycott the Congress party over Navjot Sidhu's remark allegedly hurting the sentiments of Hindus and Bhrahim community.
