Bharat Biotech's Covaxin approved by Hong Kong
Covid-19: Hong Kong has given approval to Bharat Biotech's Covaxin for international passengers. Earlier on November 9, the United Kingdom had said it would be adding Covaxin to the list of approved Covid-19 vaccines, beginning November 22. Now, those inoculated with the Bharat Biotech-manufactured vaccine will not have to self-isolate after arrival in England. On November 3, the World Health Organisation (WHO) had granted emergency use approval for Covaxin. In total, Hong Kong has approved 14 vaccines, including Covaxin. Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya had said Covid-19 vaccines — Covaxin and Covishield — had been recognised by as many as 96 countries.
