Balika Vadhu actress Surekha Sikri dies of cardiac arrest at 75
Surekha Sikri Death: Balika Vadhu actress Surekha Sikri has passed away at the age of 75 after suffering a cardiac arrest on Friday, her manager said. She had been unwell for months and had also suffered a brain stroke last year. The three-time national award winning actress, Surekha Sikri was surrounded by family and her caregivers while she passed away. The family has asked for privacy at this time. On Surekha Sikri's death, Delhi's Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia said that "Few actors are as versatile and accomplished as Surekha Sikri ji. She was an institution. She bagged the National Film Award for Best Supporting Actress thrice, for her acting in Tamas (1988), Mammo (1995) and Badhaai Ho (2018). She gained popularity for her performance in the soap opera Balika Vadhu. Her performance in Ayushmann Khurrana-starrer Badhaai Ho brought immense acclaim. It was seen as somewhat of a career comeback.
