Baisakhi 2022: Pakistan High Commission issues 2,200 visas to Indian Sikh pilgrims

Baisakhi 2022: The Pakistan High Commission in New Delhi has issued over 2,200 visas to Sikh pilgrims from India to participate in the annual festival scheduled to be held in Pakistan gurdwaras from April 12-21. Taking to Twitter, the Pakistan High Commission said, “Charge d'Affaires Aftab Hasan Khan extended his heartfelt felicitations to the pilgrims and wished them a rewarding and fulfilling yatra. Pakistan takes immense pride in preserving sacred religious places and providing necessary facilitation to the visiting pilgrims, Cd’A”.

A group of Indian Sikh pilgrims will depart for Pakistan on April 12 to participate in Baisakhi 2022 celebrations at Sri Panja Sahib Gurdwara. The jatha will also visit other historical gurdwaras in Pakistan. Also read | Chandigarh MC House passes resolution that Chandigarh remains UT The jatha will arrive at Sri Panja Sahib in Hassan Abdal on April 12, said SGPC secretary Mohinder Singh, adding that the group will take part in the congregations to be organised at the gurdwara on the occasion of Khalsa Sajna Diwas (Baisakhi festival). Baisakhi 2022: Pakistan High Commission issues 2,200 visas to Indian Sikh pilgrims Further, the group will depart for Nankana Sahib on April 14; on April 16, it will visit gurdwara Sacha Sauda Sahib and visit gurdwara Dehra Sahib in Lahore on April 17 and 18. The Sikh jatha will also visit gurdwara Sri Darbar Sahib, Kartarpur and gurdwara Rorhi Sahib at Eminabad on April 19 and 20, respectively. Amid the Covid-19 pandemic, pilgrims have been asked to follow the health department's guidelines.
