Andrew Symonds' last Instagram post before death was tribute to Shane Warne
Before the Australian cricket fraternity could recover from the shock of Shane Warne's demise, all-rounder Andrew Symonds passed away in a car accident on Saturday.
Just weeks before his untimely demise, the 46-year-old Australian all-rounder had posted an emotional tribute to his close friend and fellow cricket great Shane Warne. "Devastated, I’m hoping this is all a bad dream I just can’t get my head around never seeing you again. Love to all the Warne family I’m speechless," Symonds had written on Instagram.
Legendary leg-spinner Warne passed away during his personal trip to Thailand in March 2022 due to a heart attack.
In a heartbreaking coincidence, Shane Warne's last tweet was about former Australia wicketkeeper Rod Marsh. Hours before the Australian cricket legend died of a heart attack, he had paid tributes to Rod Marsh, who died at the age of 74.
He took to Twitter at 1.53 am and posted his final tweet. "Sad to hear the news that Rod Marsh has passed. He was a legend of our great game & an inspiration to so many young boys & girls. Rod cared deeply about cricket & gave so much-especially to Australia & England players. Sending lots & lots of love to Ros & the family. RIP mate."

Meanwhile, Symonds' untimely death sent shockwaves through the sporting world on Sunday morning as fans woke up to the news of the loss of another beloved Australian cricketer.
Off-spinner Nathan Lyon, after getting news of Symonds' demise, said: "I am heartbroken by the news we all woke up to this morning. It was only 2 months ago at Warnie’s memorial service, Roy and I had a good chat and both agreed it was too young to leave us now this!"
"RIP mate, a true legend of the game we love and inspiration to so many! My thoughts and prayers go out to his family, kids and friends!" he added.
Indian cricketer Virat Kohli said "Shocking and saddening to hear of Andrew Symonds passing. May his soul RIP and God give strength to his family in this difficult moment."
"Andrew Symond’s demise is shocking news for all of us to absorb. Not only was he a brilliant all-rounder, but also a live-wire on the field. I have fond memories of the time we spent together in Mumbai Indians," tweeted Sachin Tendulkar. "May his soul rest in peace, condolences to his family & friends," he added.
