Amul hikes milk price by Rs 2 per litre, check new rates
Popular brand Amul has increased the price of milk by Rs 2 per litre. The announcement on elevating the milk price was made by the Gujarat Cooperative Milk Marketing Federation (GCMMF), marketer of milk and milk products, on Monday.
The price increase extends to all milk variants by Amul which includes Gold, Taaza, Shakti, T-special and on cow and buffalo milk etc.
Amul Gold milk will now cost Rs 30 per 500 ml with the price increase, Amul Taza will cost Rs 24 per 500 ml, and Amul Shakti will cost Rs 27 per 500 ml.
The new prices will take effect across India on March 1, 2022.

Amul has increased the price of milk after a gap of about 7 months and 27 days. The price was last hiked in June 2021 with Rs. 2 per litre.
As the company's policy, the price rise, in turn, will benefit milk producers as the brand passes on almost 80 paise of every rupee paid by consumers for milk to the milk producers.
Meanwhile, Verka, which is one of North India's most well-known and sought-after milk brands, has also raised its milk packet prices by Rs. 2 per litre, with effect from March 1.
The Punjab State Cooperative Milk Producers’ Federation (Milkfed) also announced that retailer margins on all consumer variants of milk have been revised from Rs 2 to Rs 2.06 per litre.
