Amritsar Police arrest two drug smugglers, seize 3 kg heroin
Amritsar, August 9: In a major success, the Counter Intelligence (CI) wing of the Punjab Police nabbed two drug smugglers, officials informed on Tuesday.
Around 3 kg of heroin, with an estimated worth of around 21 crores in the international market, has been seized from the possession of the accused. According to sources, the accused were apprehended near Manawala on Jalandhar Road, Amritsar.
Sources further informed that the consignment arrived in India from Pakistan two days ago via a village near Attari. The consignment was to be delivered to Delhi in an I20 car.
The arrested accused have been identified as Sukhwinder Singh and Satnam Singh, residents of village Ghuriyala Tarn Taran. The authorities have registered three cases against both of the accused.

Officials believe the smugglers have connections in Lahore, Pakistan.
The accused will now be brought before court. Police have been expecting crucial information by questioning the arrested suspect.
Meanwhile, IG headquarters Sukhchain Singh Gill while addressing a press conference, said that Punjab Police has managed to arrest as many as 141 proclaimed offenders (POs)/absconders in drug cases over the last month.
