World’s most powerful passports 2024: As global travel resumes its momentum, the significance of passport strength has never been more pertinent. Passport rankings reflect the ability of citizens to travel freely and with ease, a coveted privilege in the modern world.
The Henley Passport Index is the original, authoritative ranking of all the world's passports based on the number of visa-free destinations to which their holders have access. The index is based on exclusive data from the International Air Transport Association (IATA), the world's largest and most accurate travel information database. The index includes 199 different passports and 227 different travel destinations.
Recently, the Henley Passport Index released its latest ranking in which the Indian passport has been ranked at the 82nd position, granting Indians visa-free entry to 58 countries.
As per the list, Singapore's passport is the most powerful globally, allowing visa-free access to 195 countries. France, Italy, Germany, and Spain share the second spot with Japan, providing access to 192 countries. The third position is occupied by Austria, Finland, Ireland, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, South Korea, and Sweden, with visa-free entry to 191 destinations.
