World split in reactions over death of Hamas Chief Yahya Sinwar

PTC News Desk: Israel has claimed that its forces have killed Hamas chief Yahya Sinwar, who is not only the architect of Oct 7 attacks but also holds a significant reverence in Israel-Palestine conflict. However Hamas is yet to respond on Sinwar's death claims. The IDF initially announced that it was checking if Sinwar was one of the three militants killed during a patrol in Gaza. By Thursday evening, they confirmed his death, reportedly in Tel Sultan, a neighborhood in Rafah, the southernmost town in Gaza.
Yahya Sinwar's death claims have drawn several international reactions
Israel
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said that "Israel has settled its scores with Sinwar but war is not ended yet. Hamas will no longer rule Gaza."
US
President Biden responded and said "Sinwar’s death offers an opportunity for a 'day after' in Gaza without Hamas in control. Yahya Sinwar was an insurmountable obstacle to achieving all of those goals."
Canada
Prime Minister Trudeau said, “Yahya Sinwar, the brutal leader of the terrorist group Hamas, has been eliminated by the IDF. Under Sinwar’s leadership, Hamas carried out the horrific atrocities of October 7, sought to destroy Israel, and launched devastating terror attacks on civilians across the region."
France
While welcoming the act and emphasizing on release of hostages, President Emmanuel Macron said, "Today, I think with emotion of the victims, including 48 of our compatriots, and their loved ones. France demands the release of all hostages still held by Hamas."
Iran
The country’s mission to the United Nations said, "The final moments of Sinwar will be a model for resistance to Israel. When Muslims look up to the Martyr Sinwar, the spirit of resistance will be strengthened."
