PTC News Desk: Following Yahya Sinwar's death, Israeli military has released a video showcasing glimpses into the lavish bunker of slain Hamas chief which he occupied during the first half of the ongoing Gaza conflict. Sinwar who is known as the architect of the brutal Oct 7 attack was allegedly prepared to ride out the war with UN food rations, thousands in cash, and other basic amenities.

The video footage gave a peek into how the October 7 attack perpetrator spent his days in Khan Younis before he was forced to flee to Rafah, where he was killed last week. The Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) shared video footage that details the inside of Sinwar's underground hideout. The video shows a well-equipped bunker, complete with modern showers, several bathrooms, and a fully functional kitchen, stocked with food rations labelled with the United Nations Palestinian Refugee Agency (UNRWA) logo. Along with this, Sinwar's personal quarters included a large safe filled with millions of Israeli shekels.

“The IDF has released footage showing their entry into Sinwar’s bunker, where UNWRA bags and millions of shekels were found. Sinwar and other Hamas leaders have been siphoning billions from the people of Gaza, allegedly with @UNWRA’s involvement,” said David Saranga, Ambassador, and Director of Israel’s Digital Diplomacy Bureau, in a post on X.

Israeli sources indicate that Sinwar spent much of the conflict hiding underground, managing Hamas operations while trying to avoid being captured. During their escape, his wife, Abu Zamar, was reportedly seen carrying a Hermes Birkin bag valued at Rs 28 lakh ($32,000).

After months of hiding, Sinwar was eventually captured by Israeli forces stumbled upon him in Rafah. His final moments were caught in a drone footage where Sinwar was drowned in dust with one hand severely injured while hurling an object at Israeli drone.
