According to sources in Indian security officials, Dalla was arrested following his suspected involvement in an armed encounter in Milton on October 27 or 28.
According to Indian intelligence agencies, Arsh Dalla is wanted in India for a number of criminal activities and is living in Canada with his wife. Canadian law enforcement agencies, primarily the Halton Regional Police Service (HRPS), are looking into the recent shootout.
Indian authorities are actively monitoring developments and coordinating with Canadian officials for more information.
Dalla was the acting chief of the Khalistani Tiger Force, and he was seen as Hardeep Singh Nijjar's successor.
