UK introduces India Young Professionals Scheme: 3,000 visas on offer for Indian citizens
PTC Web Desk: The United Kingdom (UK) has unveiled a new initiative, the India Young Professionals Scheme, aimed at inviting Indian professionals to live, work, or study in the UK for up to two years. The scheme is offering 3,000 visas through a ballot system, specifically targeting Indian citizens between in the 18-30 age group.
This innovative scheme allows eligible Indian professionals to enter the ballot system for free, with the only cost being the visa fee of £298 (approximately Rs 31,100). The UK government has outlined that most of the 3,000 visa places would be available in the February ballot, and any remaining spots will be offered in the July ballot.

The ballot window is open from February 20 (Tuesday), at 2:30 pm India Standard Time, and will close on February 22, providing eligible applicants with an opportunity to explore career prospects in the UK.
"If you are an Indian graduate who wants to live, work, or study in the UK for up to 2 years, you can enter the ballot for a chance to apply for a visa," announced the British High Commission in India.
To enter the ballot, applicants must provide specific information as per the UK government's rules and ensure they meet financial, educational, and other requirements before applying for a visa.

The selection process for successful entries will be conducted randomly through the ballot. Applicants will receive an email with the results within two weeks after the ballot closes. Upon selection, individuals will have 90 days from the date of the email to apply online, pay the visa application fee (including the immigration health surcharge), and provide their biometrics.
