PTC News Desk: The latest fashion accessory in the US isn't a baseball cap or torn jeans. It's a bandage for the ears. Following his assassination attempt, Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump made an appearance sporting a white bandage over his right ear. His right ear was injured by the bullet.

Since then, his fans have shown their support for him by donning white ear wraps on their right ears. This fashion piece has evolved into a political symbol. For his followers, it serves as a continual reminder of his near-death experience and his resistance.

Following his attempted assassination, Trump made his first public appearance at the Republican National Convention (RNC) in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. He was shot on July 13 during a rally in Pennsylvania, and the wound was covered with a bandage over his ear.

While travelling to the Milwaukee convention, he told the New York Post, "I'm not supposed to be here; I'm supposed to be dead." Several of his followers would be waiting for him at the conference with bandages on their ears.

At a convention in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, the delegates and supporters convened to choose Trump as the Republican contender for the next US elections. Following his escape from the assassin's gunshot wounds, Trump's approval ratings shot to an unprecedented height.

With a bandage over his ear as a permanent reminder of his fortunate escape, he came out alive and defiant.

In the US, ear wraps are regarded as the newest fashion trend.

Joe Neglia, an Arizona resident, told CBS News that "everyone in the world is going to be wearing these pretty soon" in reference to the bandage.

"When he entered the room yesterday and love erupted, I wondered what I could do to honor the reality. "What steps can I take to help?" Neglia asked Fox News.

"I can do that," I thought to myself as I noticed the bandage. Thus, he remarked, "I put it on just to honor Trump and to show my sympathy and unity with him." "Because there are only two genders, there are versions for men and women."

According to Stacey Goodman, another Arizona delegate wearing an ear bandage, "this was done in solidarity with my president, Trump, not the current thing that's in the administration," CBS News reported.

A man wore the bandage with his Uncle Sam costume, while a woman even wore it under her cowboy hat.

According to The Telegraph of the UK, the man wearing a fake ear bandage played Lee Greenwood's "God Bless the USA" on a harmonica.

The GOP at the convention was energized by the attempted assassination. "Fight, fight, and fight" was the first thing that Trump said while being huddled in a waiting SUV by Secret Service agents following his assassination attempt. Many people chanted this. Since then, Trump's approval ratings have increased as well. The ear bandage is serving its purpose quite well. Like his jail mug image, it has come to be recognized as a visible symbol of Trump supporters.
