PTC Web Desk: Under the leadership of President Donald Trump, the administration has launched a significant crackdown on illegal immigrants, marking a major policy shift aimed at enforcing immigration laws. This operation comes just days after Donald Trump's inauguration and targets individuals who have illegally crossed the US border in search of a better life.

White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt reported that 538 illegal immigrants were arrested during the operation, with several of them being deported using military aircraft. Among those arrested were individuals with serious criminal backgrounds, including a suspected

"The Trump administration arrested 538 illegal immigrant criminals, including a suspected terrorist, and deported hundreds using military aircraft," Leavitt said in a Thursday online post. "This is the largest deportation operation in history and demonstrates that the promises made are being kept."

The White House also released details about some of the individuals arrested, highlighting crimes such as rape, sexual conduct with children, and ongoing sexual abuse of minors aged 14 or younger. The Trump administration emphasised its commitment to securing the nation's borders, in line with the president's executive orders issued following his January 20 inauguration.

One of these executive orders, titled "Protecting the American people against invasion," points out the surge in illegal immigration over the past four years, with millions of individuals entering the US unlawfully, posing significant threats to national security and public safety.

On January 23, the US Congress approved the GOP-led Laken Riley Act, which will further support the detention and deportation of undocumented immigrants involved in criminal activities.
