Telangana woman studying at US university killed by speeding car in Florida
A car accident in Florida, US, claimed the life of Guntipalli Sowmya, a 25-year-old student from the Yadadri Bhuvanagiri district of Telangana. Sowmya, a recent Florida Atlantic University graduate, was struck by a fast vehicle as she was crossing the street and instantly passed away.

On May 26, Guntipalli Sowmya, a graduate of Florida Atlantic University, was struck by a fast-moving vehicle as she was crossing the street. She was immediately dead. After buying food, Sowmya was on her way back to her lodging when the mishap happened.
To continue her education, she travelled to the US two years ago. It was reported that she was looking for work after earning her master's degree. Sowmya was constantly looking for work. She was originally from Yadagaripalle village in Telangana. When Koteshwara Rao and Balamani learned of their daughter's untimely demise, they were saddened.
The government has been urged to help Sowmya's family repatriate her body to Telangana. The former CRPF jawan Koteshwara Rao revealed that his daughter had just celebrated her 25th birthday on May 11. He lamented her passing and reportedly remarked, "I even sent clothes for her," according to Times of India.
As per the GoFundMe page, Sowmya's father made numerous sacrifices to guarantee she may follow her aspirations and struggled greatly to organise the funds for her education. In Telangana, Rao now runs a general store (kirana shop).
