Why Sweden, Finland have asked citizens to prepare for war ?
The development comes days after Biden authorised Ukraine to use US supplied long-range missile to strike deeper in Russia prompting the rift between US and Ukraine's western allies to reach an unprecedented level
With Biden administration's approval to Ukraine for using US supplied long-range missile to strike deeper in Russia, Sweden has now asked their citizens to be prepared for war. In response to mounting raging conflict concerns, Sweden is distributing over five million leaflets to citizens directing to be prepared for the prospect of war and directions to store food and water.
The development comes days after Biden authorised Ukraine to use US supplied long-range missile to strike deeper in Russia prompting the rift between US and Ukraine's western allies to reach an unprecedented level meanwhile also infuriating Russia.
Biden administration's decision has also garnered criticism from US President-elect Donald Trump's supporters after Trump on multiple platforms during his election campaign vowed to curtain US' assistance to Ukraine and bring the conflict to a swift conclusion.
Following the announcement of Biden's decision, Trump Jr., the President elect's eldest son, wrote on X: “The military industrial complex seems to want to make sure they get World War 3 going before my father has a chance to create peace and save lives.”
Meanwhile neighbouring country Finland as a preventive measure have established a website for preparedness. Moreover, Norwegians too recently received pamphlets, directing them how to survive on their own for a week in the case of war and other hazards.
