PTC News Desk: Singapore's Changi airport has rolled out passport-less clearance at all the four terminals of the airport. In a move to help millions of passengers, this advanced technological system has been introduced.

Under this system, passengers will no longer have to carry their passports and show them to different authorities, instead all they have to do is to punch into the biometrics which will handle the entire process. According to the officials,  in a span of 15 days, 1.5 million travelers had cleared immigration without showing a passport to the airport authority.

The system will specially benefit Singapore citizens, permanent residents, and long-term pass holders to clear immigration with ease without showing passports and using only facial and iris biometrics. However immigrants travelling from abroad are required to show their passports upon arrival.

Children on the other hand irrespective of their nationality are excluded from this system as physical features are in the developing stage.

"All foreign visitors will still need to bring their passports and have to present their passport for immigration clearance upon arrival in Singapore,” the ICA reminded travellers.
