PTC News Desk: Passengers on a flight to Tokyo last week received more in-flight entertainment than they expected when an explicit film involving 'adult' banter and explicit visuals was shown on all screens.

Due to technical issues, individual movie selection was unavailable on a Qantas aircraft from Sydney to Haneda, forcing the crew to select one film to be presented to the entire cabin.

Their choice of Dakota Johnson and Sean Penn's steamy movie "Daddio" surprised many, including the airline, which apologised on Tuesday.

"The movie was clearly not suitable to play for the whole flight and we sincerely apologise to customers for this experience," a Qantas spokesperson stated.

When the error was discovered, "all screens were changed to a family-friendly movie for the rest of the flight," Qantas stated.

"We are reviewing how the movie was selected."
