The gunman was later shot dead by law enforcement.

Meanwhile, schools in Farmington were placed on lockdown following the incident, according to authorities.
The incident was reported shortly after 11 a.m. in the Brookside Park area, and all local schools were placed on "preventative lockdown." Three nearby schools were still on lockdown.
According to a Facebook post by the city's police department, at least three people were killed, and authorities confronted and killed a suspect on the site.
