Israel-Hamas conflict: Israel Defence Force reports horrific atrocities, including baby beheadings by Hamas
Tel Aviv(Israel), October 12: On the sixth day of the Israel-Hamas conflict, Israel Defence Force (IDF) spokesperson Lieutenant Col Jonathan Conricus reported on shocking atrocities committed by Hamas in the Israeli kibbutz of Kfar Aza, confirming that babies had been beheaded. Conricus expressed disbelief at the barbarity of such acts.
In his daily update video on the Israel-Hamas conflict, Lt Col Conricus described the scenes as reminiscent of a horror movie, emphasising the war-like conditions. He detailed the grim discoveries, including beheaded infants, the mutilation of bodies, the handcuffing and execution of women and children, the burning of houses, and people being burned alive or suffocated.
Conricus revealed that the Israeli Air Force has been targeting various neighborhoods in Gaza, with a priority on striking Hamas commanders and senior officials based on intelligence reports. He emphasised that the IDF was actively combating Hamas infrastructure in Gaza, spanning financial assets, construction, commander control, intelligence, research and development.
He also highlighted the IDF's significant deployment along the southern border, maintaining vigilance against any potential threats from Hezbollah. Conricus mentioned the approaching presence of a US Naval group in the Mediterranean, specifically the USS Dwight D Eisenhower aircraft carrier and its strike group.
On Thursday night, the Israel Air Force launched an offensive to weaken the Hamas commando force known as "Nachaba" by targeting operational headquarters used by operatives who infiltrated Israeli settlements. The Air Force also eliminated senior Hamas naval operative Muhammad Abu Shamla and uncovered his house being used to store naval weapons for terrorist operations against Israel.
The ongoing conflict has resulted in 51 reported Palestinian fatalities and 281 injuries due to overnight airstrikes by Israel, according to the Gaza health ministry.
Israel initiated its counter-offensive against Hamas in response to a prior attack that claimed the lives of over 1,200 Israelis, with the goal of entirely eradicating the terror group.
