PTC Web Desk: A 26-year-old youth from Hyderabad, identified as Ravi Teja, was shot dead at a gas station in Washington DC, United States, on Monday. The incident is being investigated as a suspected attack by assailants. Ravi Teja, a resident of RK Puram Green Hills Colony in Hyderabad, had moved to the United States in March 2022 to pursue a Master's degree.

After completing his studies, Ravi Teja was actively seeking employment when he became the victim of this violent attack. The local police are looking into the circumstances surrounding the shooting and are working to identify those responsible for the crime.

This tragic event follows a string of similar incidents involving Indian-origin students in the US. Last month, 22-year-old Sai Teja Nukarapu from Telangana was shot at a petrol pump in Chicago. He had been helping a friend at the time, though he was not on duty when the attack occurred.

In another case, Dr Shriram Singh, a well-known academic who had lived in the US for nearly four decades, was fatally shot by unidentified assailants in Atlanta.

The growing number of such incidents has raised concerns about the safety of Indian-origin students and professionals in the United States.
