Russia-India likely to hold first consultations in June to discuss the draft agreement of visa-free trips between the countries

Travel to Russia to be visa-free soon? According to a Russian minister, consultations between Russia and India regarding a bilateral agreement to simplify travel will commence in June. The minister also mentioned that Moscow and New Delhi are poised to enhance their tourism relationship by initiating visa-free group tourist exchanges.

Director of the Department for Multilateral Economic Cooperation and Special Project, Nikita Kondratyev, opened up on the consultations  and said, “India is at the final stage of internal state coordination. The process with group visa-free trips has moved a little. The Indian side returned with the answer that they are at the final stage of internal state coordination and asked us again for the latest draft of the document and promised to return in the very near future.” 

Nikita Kondratyev further added that Russia-India likely to hold first consultations in June to discuss the draft agreement of visa-free trips between the countries. 


Earlier, in February also Russia and India was expected to visa-free tourist exchanges 

On August 1, 2023, Russia and China launched a visa-free group tourist exchange as part of an intergovernmental agreement. 

Similarly, Moscow and Tehran began a visa-free group tourist exchange on the same date, according to Sputnik. 

The 'Russia-Islamic World: KazanForum,' which has been taking place in Kazan since May 14, will wrap up on May 19.
