PTC News Desk: The disengagement exercise between India and China in Depsang and Demchok has concluded. The Indian military forces are carrying out verification, according to sources familiar with the situation.

According to Indian Army sources, both sides would start coordinated patrolling soon. Ground commanders will continue to talk.

Tomorrow, the two sides will exchange sweets to celebrate Diwali.

The Indian and Chinese troops were confirming the withdrawal of positions and the dismantling of infrastructure.

India has been trying to resolve this long-standing conflict in order to restore the pre-April 2020 status, which existed before Chinese aggression in the region began.

On Friday, the Chinese Foreign Ministry stated that both nations' frontier forces are engaged in "relevant work" in accordance with the border agreement.

During a news briefing, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Lin Jian stated that the work is going "smoothly."

When asked if India and China had begun army withdrawals from friction spots, Lin Jian responded,  "In accordance with the recent resolutions on border issues, the Chinese and Indian frontier troops are engaged in relevant work, progressing smoothly at present."

On October 21, India and China announced an agreement to patrol along the Line of Actual Control (LAC) in eastern Ladakh, bringing an end to the four-year military impasse.
