Idols vandalised, three Hindu temples attacked in Bangladesh

The latest attacks follows spate of incidents targeting Hindu temples and idols in attack to minorities.

PTC News Desk: Over eight idols were vandalised and three Hindu temples were attacked in Bangladesh's Mymensingh and Dinajpur districts. In view of the incidents, police has arrested one person.


The latest attacks follows spate of incidents targeting Hindu temples and idols in attack to minorities. 


In Mymensingh's Haluaghat sub-district, idols at two temples were vandalised in separate incidents on Thursday and Friday. Abul Khayer, the officer-in-charge of Haluaghat Police Station, stated that two idols at the Bonderpara Temple in Shakuai union were damaged early on Friday. "No case has been filed, and no arrests have been made in this incident so far," Khayer said.


Another similar incident took place at Polashkanda Kali Temple in Beeldora union where an idol was vandalised. However, police later arrested  27-year-old resident of Polashkanda village, over his alleged involvement. "During interrogation, the suspect confessed to the crime," Khayer said.
