PTC News Desk: Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump stated Friday that Israel should strike Iran's nuclear facilities in retaliation to the Islamic Republic's recent missile offensive.

Speaking at a campaign event in North Carolina, the former president addressed a question given to Democratic President Joe Biden this week regarding the potential of Israel hitting Iran's nuclear program.

"They asked him, what do you think about Iran, would you hit Iran? And he goes, 'As long as they don't hit the nuclear stuff.' That's the thing you want to hit, right?" Trump said.

When asked on Wednesday if he would support strikes against Iranian nuclear sites, Biden replied, "The answer is no."

"I think he's got that one wrong," Trump stated Friday in response to a participant's question on the matter. "Isn't that what you're supposed to hit? I mean, it's the biggest risk we have, nuclear weapons," he said.

"When they asked him that question, the answer should have been, hit the nuclear first, and worry about the rest later," the former President added. "If they're going to do it, they're going to do it. But we'll find out whatever their plans are."

Biden reiterated his opposition to such operations against Iran's nuclear facilities on Wednesday, following the launch of almost 200 Iranian missiles at Israel.

"We'll be discussing with the Israelis what they're going to do," he added, adding that all G7 members feel Israel has "a right to respond, but they should respond in proportion."
