Afif recently told reporters that Hezbollah has enough weapons to conduct a "long war" with Israel. His assassination is another step towards Israel's goal of eliminating Hezbollah leadership.

Meanwhile, on Sunday, three people were arrested for throwing flares towards Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's home.
Two flares were thrown at Netanyahu's private home in Caesarea on Saturday night, landing in the courtyard. The prime minister and his family were not present at the time.
