Guinea: Football match turns fatal as stampede kills over 100 people

PTC News Desk: A football match turned fatal Guinea when after a scuffle broke out between the fans killing over 100 people. The incident took place in N'Zerekore which is Guinea's second largest city. 


Soon after the incident, the videos of the carnage went started circulating on social media showed scenes of chaos in the street outside the match and numerous bodies lying on the ground. Prime Minister Bah Oury of Guinea condemned the violence in a statement on the social platform X on Sunday.


According to the reports, it has not yet made clear on what lead to the deadly clash that broke out between the fans of both the teams.


One doctor at the local hospital said that the hospitals and morgues are inundated with bodies. According to the witnesses, Angry demonstrators also vandalised and set fire to the N'Zerekore police station.
