Four Indian students drown in river near St. Petersburg, Russia; one rescued

Collaborating with local authorities, the Indian mission in Russia is striving to retrieve the drowned students' bodies and return them to India as quickly as feasible.

PTC News Desk: Authorities claimed on Friday that four Indian students had drowned in a river close to St. Petersburg, Russia, and that they had recovered one body and were looking for the other three.

After falling into the river, another student, a girl, was also recovered and is undergoing medical attention. The deaths were verified by Jalgaon District Collector Ayush Prasad to news agency ANI.

In order to retrieve the bodies and return them to India as soon as feasible, the Indian Consulate in St. Petersburg and the Indian Embassy in Russia are collaborating with the local authorities.

The Indian Embassy released a statement saying, "We are working to send the bodies to the relatives as soon as possible." "Proper treatment is also being provided to the student whose life was saved."

The St. Petersburg Consulate also clarified that they are working with officials in Veliky Novgorod, the location of the students' medical studies at Veliky Novgorod State University.

The Consulate stated, "The bereaved families have been contacted and assured of all possible help." "Proper medical, including psychological treatment, is being provided to the girl student who was saved."

The victims' identities and the reason behind their drowning have not yet been made public by officials.
