Donald Trump vows to stop 'transgender lunacy', to make male, female only legal gender in country
He also vowed to "keep men out of women's sports," adding that "it will be the official policy of the United States government that there are only two genders, male and female."
PTC News Desk: US President-elect Donald Trump has vowed to end transgender lunacy on the very first day of his presidency as Republicans are all set to hold authority over both chambers of Congress and the White House.
The Republicans have been staunch critic of LGBTQ movement.
At a Republican conference in Phoenix, Arizona, Trump said he will sign executive orders to make male and female only legal genders of the country. "I will sign executive orders to end child sexual mutilation, get transgender out of the military and out of our elementary schools and middle schools and high schools," the president-elect said.
He also vowed to "keep men out of women's sports," adding that "it will be the official policy of the United States government that there are only two genders, male and female."
Trump seemed to be double down in a crackdown against conservative priorities including prompt action over transgender issues and promised to stop the 'transgender lunacy'.
The issues of LGBTQ had a massive impact on the US politics in recent years as Democratic- and Republican-controlled states have worked in contradiction in regards with the policies related to transgenders such as medical treatment and what books on the topic are allowed in public or school libraries.
